Koala Event: Low Tox Living

One of the last few events I attended before the Coronavirus started getting out of hand was the Koala Low Tox Living event.

Learning more about Koala from Soft Furnishings Product Manager – Stephanie Roberts-Baxter

I went to Koala headquarters in Alexandria to learn more about their products and low tox living. Koala are more than just mattresses – they have sofas, pillows, sheets, bed bases, tv units, sofa beds, and book shelves available now too! Stephanie Roberts-Baxter (Soft Furnishings Product Manager) discussed how Koala sources their materials, design their products to last and test their products for safety.

I love that Koala do extensive testing to ensure that there are no heavy metals, carcinogens, or volatile chemicals in their products. They also have an ethical supply chain with visits to production facilities and suppliers to assess their practices. The wood used for Koala furniture is PEFC or FSC certified which means that it is sourced from sustainable forests. So in a nutshell, Koala is a company that sustainably produces furniture for your home that is safe, affordable and stylish.

The Koala headquarters actually features a concept room where they are able to display their latest products so I was able to try out their bed, sofa bed and sofa. All very comfy indeed! Their new bookcases and tv units were on display too and let me tell you, everything is on my wish list!

How cute are these Koala koalas??

We were also able to make some of our own low-tox cleaning products with Sweet Cherry Soda. We made a cleaning spray, wipes and laundry powder. So easy to do and you have the comfort of knowing exactly what is in it.
Have you ever made your own cleaning products?
